What It Means to Foster

Fostering means welcoming a rescue dog into your home temporarily, offering them the care, structure, and safety they’ve often never known. You provide the bridge between their past life and a forever home, helping us assess their behavior, build their confidence, and get them adoption-ready.

Fosters allow us to say “yes” to dogs in urgent situations:

+Dogs at high risk of euthanasia

+Dogs recovering from injury or illness

+Dogs who just need a quiet, stable place to decompress

Fostering helps us learn who each dog truly is—what makes them tick, what makes them thrive, and what kind of forever family they need. And with that knowledge, we can make lasting matches.

Why Foster with RADAR?

You don’t need to be an expert—just someone who believes in second chances. We will help you every step of the way with introductions, supplies, guidance as well as professional behavioral and veterinary care. Because when you foster, you’re not “dog sitting.” You’re teaching them that humans can be kind and that love is real.

Adopt One. Save Two.

When you adopt a dog from R.A.D.A.R., you’re not just changing one life—you’re saving two.

Every dog pulled from a shelter makes room for another.

Through our partnership with Georgia Canine Rescue & Rehab (GCRR), we’re able to pull dogs who urgently need short‑term foster placements. These dogs are often stuck waiting—not because they aren’t adoptable, but because they need a temporary landing place to decompress, heal, or simply get out of an overcrowded system.

This foster‑to‑foster pipeline allows us to respond quickly to urgent needs, support our rescue partners, and keep dogs moving forward instead of falling through the cracks.
